Name: Václav Žáček |
Started to dedicate his free time to this sport in the year 2002. In year 2003 he had been bewitched by Freestyle on Jet Ski that much, that he traveled to distant
UK to participate in concentration training with multiple World Champion, American, Eric Malone. In 2004, he abandoned to Freestyle that much, that he participated
in similar concentration training in Great Britain, only this time with the World Champion from year 2001, Brazilian, Alessandre Lenzi. Thanks to his talent and experience gained from international concentration trainings, he became the Jet Ski Freestyle pioneer in Czech Republic. In year 2005 he participated in Czech Republic Freestyle Championship, where he secured 2nd place. In summer 2006 he showed with his Jet Ski as first ever rider in Czech history, trick called “back-flip”. In the same year Iceman participated in the European Championship Series, where he ended at 4th place over all. And became the best positioned Czech rider in the history of this Championship. In season 2006 Iceman really was not idle, as he also participated in third most prestige series of Championships in Europe – Alpe Adria Cup, which is joint Championship of Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Czech Republic. In over all ranking Iceman ended 2nd . As the only rider he was able to qualify for World Cup Open in Russia, where he was competing together with current world top riders including former instructor, Brazilian, Alessandre Lenzi. In this prestige race, which was aired in the Russian National Television, Ice positioned himself at great 6th position. Iceman participated even in the most important race of the season - Jetski World Finals at Lake Havasu, Arizona, USA. This most prestigious race of the world took place for the 25th time and in its history there were no Czech riders participating yet. In this race, in which participated riders form 28 different countries, Ice conquered great 10th place. Except Jet Ski racing, and representation of Czech Republic abroad, Vasek is also trying to popularize this type of sport through exhibitions of his freestyle art at different shows performed within numerous sport and cultural shows – projects through out the whole Czech Republic. As founder member of The Czech Jet Ski association and its secretary, he regularly participates in TV discussions and programs with regards to operation of jet ski in the Czech Republic. He is trying to support further development of this sport in Czech Republic. Interestingly enough, Vasek does not see as his biggest career achievement neither the high ranking in European Championship, or his first Czech back-flip, but the fact that together with other members of the Czech Jet Ski Association after negotiations with the Ministry of Transport and Shipping SPS, he was able to push through several public tracks on Czech inland waterways, where after several years of complete jet ski prohibition, they are able to operate jet skis again. |
